Warning to depositors of International & European Applications, as well as International Trademarks.

Many applicants of International Applications (PCT) or applicants and holders of European Patents or applicants of International Trademarks receive invoices from companies and individuals requesting payment of fees.
These companies and individuals use names, abbreviations, and/or logos designed to appear legitimate from an official source.

In some cases, they use names that bear a confusing resemblance to those of WIPO or EPO to give the impression that they are acting on behalf of these organisations. The requests are designed using names that sound official and try to mislead you.

Regardless of the registration services offered in such solicitations, they are not associated with WIPO or the EPO. They are not connected with the processing of international PCT applications, nor with the processing of international applications and transactions related to registrations in the Madrid System, nor with the publication and/or registration of applications and European patents.

The solicitations often specify a specific PCT application with its international publication number (e.g., PCT/GR2023/xxxxxx), the publication date, the title of the invention, the international application number, priority information, and IPC symbols or the corresponding EP number.

Information and examples of invoices received in relation to PCT applications can be found on the WIPO website.

If you have any questions and a letter you received seems suspicious, please contact the International, Community & European Applications Reception Department at the phone numbers 210 6183667 or 211 1097918 or by email at:
