Meeting of the Deputy Minister of Development with the Management of the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI)

 

Meeting with Officials of the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI), a Supervised Entity of the Ministry of Development, Held by Deputy Minister Anna Mani-Papadimitriou at the Organisation’s Headquarters.

Ms. Mani was briefed by the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Dimitris Chronis, the General Director, Mr. Panagiotis Kanellopoulos, and specialized staff members of the Organisation about its services and overall progress.

The OBI management presented to the Deputy Minister the initiatives being promoted for the full digitization of its services, highlighted the record of 1,000 patent applications submitted in 2022, and emphasized the rapid progress made in recent years regarding trademark approval times.

Among the topics discussed was the potential strengthening of OBI’s Regional Offices.

Also on the table was the new Service being implemented by OBI to better support Startups and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, aiming to assist them in securing their patents.

After the meeting, Ms. Mani stated: “OBI is an important organisation for the protection of industrial property in Greece and contributes to the development of innovation and entrepreneurship. By promoting innovation and protecting intellectual property, it plays a crucial role in strengthening industrial activity and development in the country.”
