On Friday, February 9, 2024, the Director-General of the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI), Mr. Panagiotis Kanellopoulos, visited the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, following an invitation from the President of the Polish Patent Office, Mrs. Edyta Demby-Siwek.
The visit further strengthened the excellent cooperation between the two offices, focusing on the exchange of best practices and expertise in the field of Industrial Property. In particular, the discussions covered the practices and procedures followed by each office, based on the applicable national legislation. A demonstration was also given of the electronic filing and document management system used by the Polish Patent Office in its daily operations, the PUEUP system.
Additionally, the two offices discussed the events and projects planned for implementation in 2024 and the preparation of both countries regarding the new legislation on Geographical Indications for Handicraft and Industrial Products.
