According to a new EPO study, university research accounts for over 10% of all inventions in Europe.
The new study presents data such as:
- The top-performing countries are Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Italy. A small group of European universities (5%) represents half of all academic patent applications.
- The study highlights the critical role of universities in European innovation, as well as the challenges posed by market fragmentation, as mentioned in the Draghi report.
- The free tool Deep Tech Finder has been expanded with more than 10,000 profiles for European startups, spin-offs, and universities ready for investment, with European patent applications.
