Women and Intellectual Property: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity” – the message for this year!
Every year, a global campaign provides a unique opportunity to unite with people around the world to honor inventors and creators everywhere and explore how intellectual property contributes to a thriving music and arts scene while driving technological innovation that helps shape the world as we know it.
Today, April 26, 2023, is dedicated to innovative, creative, and entrepreneurial women worldwide. We celebrate the doubling of efforts to promote inclusion and diversity in all fields of their work, ensuring the development of innovation ecosystems that are accessible to all genders. However, WIPO’s data shows that while some progress has been made, the number of women using the international patent system remains low.
When women inventors, creators, and entrepreneurs are aware of intellectual property, they benefit from the ability to add value to their work. Equally, we all benefit from the new perspectives and talents that women bring to the table!
