Faithful to our collaboration with the EUIPO, which manages rights related to trademarks, industrial designs, and other titles within the EU, Greece is participating in the AUTHENTICITY Program with four cities: Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Corfu, and Argostoli.
With the aim of inspiring and raising awareness within the local communities about the frequent daily occurrences of intellectual property infringement affecting creators, inventors, trademark holders, producers, and business owners, the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation stands by them through partnerships and relevant information sharing.
Through street events, school visits, cultural activities at historical sites, video presentations in municipalities, outdoor concerts, printed and digital advertising in each authentic city’s media, and with the support of local authorities, the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation continues to support and spread the timeless motto of the Authenticities Project: “The AUTHENTIC is eternal”.
Yesterday afternoon in Thessaloniki, residents and visitors had the opportunity to get informed, enjoy music, and exchange wishes for an innovative and prosperous 2025 by visiting a specially designed stand, where they received informational brochures and tech-related gifts.
In collaboration with the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the pedestrian street of Agia Sofia was filled with Christmas lights and live music from a DJ, while both young and old were thrilled with their unique gifts and the information they received on the importance of protecting ideas from copycatting, counterfeiting, and the illegal production, trade, and circulation of non-authentic goods and services.
Equally successful, the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation, in cooperation with the Non-Formal Learning Organisation STEAM GREECE and the Municipality of Argostoli, organised a unique event in Argostoli yesterday aimed at introducing children to the world of Science, Robotics, and the dissemination of innovative programs, always in a fun and creative way.
The students were informed about innovation and the smart cities of the future, inventions, industrial designs, logos/trademarks, collaborated with their classmates to present their ideas, and at the end, they built an electric car using authentic LEGO WeDo2 equipment, which participated in a competition.
