“Thessaloniki Authenticity: Re-certification of the city as ‘Authenticity’ for the next 2 years.”

In Thessaloniki, on Friday, January 31, 2025, the continuation of the “Authenticities” project was signed, along with the re-certification of the city as “Authenticity” for the next 2 years.

The main goal of the OBI, the municipal authorities, and the involved productive entities is to continue raising awareness among residents and visitors on intellectual property protection and to foster a market mentality focused solely on authentic products. The ultimate goal is to combat the phenomenon of counterfeit and imitation products.

The project will continue to be implemented through a series of specialized awareness events (e.g., enforcement seminars), regular promotion via the municipality’s media channels (television & radio spots, social media, website, events), distribution of informational material (printed or otherwise) at industry fairs held at HELEXPO, as well as seminars and workshops in schools and universities in the city and the broader area.

The project will be executed with the close cooperation and contribution of:

  • Central Macedonia Region (Metropolitan Committee of Thessaloniki Metropolitan Unit)
  • Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI)
  • Thessaloniki Chamber of Professionals (EETH)
  • Thessaloniki Chamber of Handicrafts (VETH)
  • Economic Chamber of Greece (OEE, Regional Department of Central Macedonia)

Greece participates in the AUTHENTICITY program with the cities: Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Corfu, and Argostoli.
