Statement of Filing of National, by Conversion of Union & of Conversion of International Trade Marks, whether it concerns simple or collective marks, is submitted to the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation, in accordance with the instructions below:

Download the Application of Submission of National Mark (in Excel format) and save it your PC.

Open the saved Statement file and fil in the appropriate fields. Use the TAB key to move between the fields.

Insert a representation by selecting Insert –> Image (or by the Drag and Drop method) and place it in the existing Statement’s framework, adjusting its dimensions accordingly (the representation should be a tif 8×8 file).

In the field concerning classes, if the space is not enough, fil in the text that does not fit on a Word page.

When you complete the filling in the fields, select “Save” and save the completed Statement on an electronic storage medium (USB stick) and submit it along with the rest supporting documents (depending on each case at issue part of the following):

Four (4) double – side copies signed by the proprietor or by the assigned attorney.

Proof of payment of the fee responding to your application (Note: the payment ceiling until the 10th class in accordance with the abolished Law 4072/2012 is no longer in force).

Appointment of a Procedural Representative accompanied by the full name and signature of the proprietor.

In the case of submission by a third party, other than the proprietor, authorization to the attorney.

In the case where the proprietor is a Company, depending on its form, the Statute or the Official Government Gazeete (F.E.K.) where the Representation had been published or the Announcement to the General Commercial Register (Geniko Emporiko Mitroo (G.E.M.Y.)) or other relevant document legitimating the signee / Declaration / Authorization or any power of attorney.

Case File or file with flaps.

In the case of fling by an assigned Attorney, a promissory note for attorney’s fees.

In the case of filing a Trade mark by Conversion of a EU one, the following are required:

Proof of payment of a variable fee of one hundred and fifty (150) euros for the first class + twenty (20) euros for each additional class up to the 45th,

Special filing form, as well as,

Translation to the Greek language of the following documents:

EU’s Trade mark Application

Conversion Application

EUIPO’s document that certifies the date of submission of the EU Trademark

EUIPO’s Decision,  according to its main parts (partial translation), from which the reason for rejection of the EU trade mark is derived.

The deadline for submitting the above – mentioned supporting documents is two (2) months commencing from the next day following the notification of the depositor or of the potentially appointed in the conversion application Greek attorney – at – law, which takes place by the means of a document of our Service, by acknowledgement of receipt.

In the case of filing a Trade mark by Conversion of an International one, it is required:

Proof of payment of a variable fee of one hundred and fifty (150) euros for the first class + twenty (20) euros for each additional class up to the 45th,

Special filing form, as well as,

Translation to the Greek language of the following documents:

A W.I.P.O’s document from which the date of termination of the validity of the international registration is derived.

W.I.P.O’s document with the details of the international registration.

The filing statement concerning certification marks is accompanied by Use Regulation except from the rest supporting documents which are required for common marks, while the filing and their renewal of protection fees are set at five (5) times the fees applicable for the rest trade marks. In the case of a paper filing of a certification mark, the payment of a fee of six hundred (600) Euros is required for the first class + one hundred (100) Euros for each additional class. In the case of filing by conversion of an EU or an international certification mark, the payment of seven hundred and fifty (750) Euros for the first class is required + one hundred (100) Euros for each additional class.

The filing statement concerning collective marks shall only be submitted by Corporations or Organizations of manufacturers, producers, service providers or merchandizers having legal personality or Legal Persons governed by Public Law and it is accompanied by the Use Regulation apart from the rest supporting documents which are required as well as for common trade marks, while the filing and their renewal of protection fees are set at five (5) time the fees applicable for the rest trade marks. In the case of filing a collective mark, the payment of a fee of six hundred (600) Euros for the first class is required + one hundred (100) Euros for each additional class. In the case of filing by conversion of an EU or an international trade mark, the payment of a fee of seven hundred and fifty (750) Euros for the first class is required + one hundred (100) Euros for each additional class.
